Untapable Taking on Five in $1 Million Ogden Phipps
Untapable, the winner of last year’s Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-5 for trainer Steve Asmussen. A four-year-old daughter of Tapit bred and owned by Ron Winchell, she has won nine of her thirteen starts and was last seen winning the Apple Blossom (G1) as the heavy favorite in her second start of the year. John Velazquez will be back aboard and they will break from post position four.
Wedding Toast aiming for second straight stakes win
Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is Wedding Toast for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. A five-year-old daughter of Street Sense, she has been on the board in nine of her ten starts and has six victories to her credit. She was last seen winning the Ruffian (G2) as the favorite in May at Belmont Park by four lengths. Regular rider Jose Lezcano will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position two.
Princess Violet a consistent contender
Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Princess Violet for trainer Linda Rice. A four-year-old daughter of Officer, she has won five of her eleven starts and has been second five other times. After winning the Madison (G1) at Keeneland in her second start of the year, she was second behind Wedding Toast in the Ruffian (G2). Jose Ortiz will be aboard and they will break from post position five.
