A day full of stakes action kicks off on Saturday at Gulfstream with the 66th running of the $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes. The Grade 3 race, restricted to three-year-olds, will be run at seven furlongs and has drawn a field of nine colts and geldings. 
The $60,000 Marie G. Krantz Memorial Stakes January 17 at Fair Grounds immediately precedes the featured Grade 3 LeComte, and may be every bit as good a betting race as the main attraction. 
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, Sunshine Millions Day begins with the $100,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint. Restricted to horses bred in Flordia, Maryland, New York or Pennsylvania, the six-furlong contest has drawn a field of seven. 
On Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs, the featured race is the 11th running of the $100,000 Turf Dash Stakes. Scheduled to be run at five furlongs on the turf, the race has drawn a full field of twelve with two additional contenders listed as also-eligible. 
The $100,000 Mucho Macho Man Stakes for three year-old colts going a one-turn mile on the dirt is the fifth and final stakes event on a stellar card Saturday, January 3 at Gulfstream Park. 
On Wednesday, the featured race of Aqueduct’s card is the $100,000 Alex M. Robb Stakes. Restricted to horses bred in New York, the mile and a sixteenth race has drawn a field of eight colts and geldings. 
The $75,000 Eddie Logan Stakes Saturday, December 27 at Santa Anita features a field of 13 two year-olds going a mile on the turf course in an outstanding betting race. 
On Friday at Santa Anita, the stakes action continues on their opening day card with the 15th edition of the Mathis Brothers Mile. Scheduled to be run on the turf at the distance of one mile, the Grade 2 race offers a purse of $200,000 and has drawn a full field of twelve with two additional listed as also-eligible. 
On Saturday at Charles Town, the featured race is the $50,000 Eleanor Casey Memorial Stakes. Restricted to juvenile fillies bred in West Virginia, the seven-furlong race has drawn a field of ten.
