On Saturday at Belmont Park, a field of nine fillies and mares will compete for an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf in the $600,000 Flower Bowl. The Grade 1 event is part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series and will be run at a mile and a quarter on the inner turf course. 
It’s hard to be overly critical of Untapable’s September 20 win in the $1 million Grade 1 Cotillion at Parx, but with the Breeders' Cup Distaff just around the corner, the forward-thinking handicapper must now consider whether Untapable is the super horse she was thought to be earlier in the racing season, or merely a vulnerable short-priced favorite on Breeders' Cup Friday. Of course, the truth could also lie somewhere in between those extremes. 
On Saturday at Parx Racing, some of the top three-year-old fillies in the country will compete in the 45th edition of the $1 million Cotillion Stakes. The prestigious Grade 1 race will be contested at a mile and a sixteenth and has drawn a field of nine. 
With large purses up for grabs, the Saturday card at Kentucky Downs has drawn some of the top horses and jockeys from around the country. The start of their stakes races on the day is the $200,000 More Than Ready Mile which will be contested at one mile on the turf. 
Some of the most promising juveniles on the West Coast will compete in the 67th running of the $300,000 Del Mar Futurity. The Grade 1 race will be contested at seven furlongs on the synthetic main track and has drawn a field of nine. 
On Saturday at Saratoga, some of the top older horses in the country will square off in the 61st edition of the $600,000 Woodward. The prestigious Grade 1 has drawn a field of nine entrants to compete in the mile and an eighth contest. 
Some of the most promising juvenile turf horses will take center stage on Thursday at Saratoga in the 10th running of the $200,000 With Anticipation Stakes. The Grade 2 event will be contested at a mile and a sixteenth on the Mellon Turf Course and has drawn a field of nine with one entered for the main track only.
