Prior to that effort, I’m a Chatterbox reeled off consecutive stakes victories at Fair Grounds in the Silverbulletday, Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra and Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks. The versatile runner has shown the ability to win from on the lead, just off the pace and well off the pace while winning 4 of 7 career starts. Regular jockey Florent Geroux will be in the irons breaking from post eight.
Curlina (3/1) has done little wrong in four career races with the only blemish a second place finish in her debut. Since then, the Todd Pletcher-trained filly has pulled a hat trick, including a Grade 1 victory June 6 in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes at Belmont Park. The daughter of 2007 and 2008 Horse of the Year, Curlin, will break from post three with John Velazquez taking the mount.
At 12/1 odds, Chide is a rapidly improving filly for trainer Al Stall. The well-bred daughter of 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, Blame, is ideally suited for the 1 1/8 mile distance, and could surprise at generous odds.
