I'm a Chaterbox and Curlina Square Off in Coaching Club Oaks
The field of eight is led by 5/2 morning line favorite I’m a Chatterbox for trainer Larry Jones. The daughter of Munnings will be making her first start since a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks. Prior to that effort, I’m a Chatterbox reeled off consecutive stakes victories at Fair Grounds in the Silverbulletday, Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra and Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks. The versatile runner has shown the ability to win from on the lead, just off the pace and well off the pace while winning 4 of 7 career starts. Regular jockey Florent Geroux will be in the irons breaking from post eight.
No chinks in Curlina's armour
Curlina (3/1) has done little wrong in four career races with the only blemish a second place finish in her debut. Since then, the Todd Pletcher-trained filly has pulled a hat trick, including a Grade 1 victory June 6 in the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes at Belmont Park. The daughter of 2007 and 2008 Horse of the Year, Curlin, will break from post three with John Velazquez taking the mount.
Attractive price on improving filly
At 12/1 odds, Chide is a rapidly improving filly for trainer Al Stall. The well-bred daughter of 2010 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner, Blame, is ideally suited for the 1 1/8 mile distance, and could surprise at generous odds.
