Arlington Million Draws International Field of Thirteen
Big Blue Kitten tops the international field of thirteen as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 for trainer Chad Brown. Bred and owned by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, the seven-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy is a thirteen time winner and has won two of his three starts this year. A leading contender for the champion turf horse Eclipse Award, he was last seen winning the United Nations Stakes (G1) and will have Joe Bravo in the irons from post position four.
Slumber (GB) another major threat for Chad Brown
Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is Slumber (GB) who also comes out of the Chad Brown barn. A seven-year-old son of Cacique (IRE), he has been on the board fourteen times and is a five-time career winner. After a breakthrough victory in the Manhattan Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park in June, he was second behind Big Blue Kitten last time out and will try to turn the tables on that rival. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard and they will break from post position two.
Champion Up With the Birds a live longshot
Also in the field at morning line odds of 10-1 is Up With the Birds for trainer Graham Motion. A homebred son of Stormy Atlantic for Canadian powerhouse Sam-Son Farm, he was named the Sovereign Award Horse of the Year and champion three-year-old in 2014. A seven-time winner, he has been third in both starts this year and was last seen in the Arlington Handicap (G3). He will have Drayden Van Dyke aboard from the inside post.
