$100,000 Clever Trevor Pits 2 Year-Old Stakes Winners
The $100,000 Clever Trevor Stakes Friday, November7 at Remington Park features a field of eight two year-old colts going seven furlongs on the main the featured race of the day under the lights.
Bayered is the heavily favored 4/5 morning line choice for trainer Steve Asmussen after winning two of his first three career starts including the Kip Deville Stakes in his most recent performance at Remington. Prior to that effort, Bayered began his career by running third against maiden special weights at Saratoga before coming back to break his maiden against the same company at The Spa. The son of former Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Speightstown will be ridden by Ricardo Santana.
Shotgun Kowboy seeks revenge
Oklahoma-bred Shotgun Kowboy is the 5/2 second choice after winning the Oklahoma Classics Juvenile Stakes October 17 at Remington in his last start. Shotgun Kowboy has won two of three career starts for trainer C.R. Trout, and finished third behind Bayered in the Kip Deville. The son of Kodiak Kowboy has raced exclusively at Remington and should once again appreciate the local footing.
Stakes-winning filly ships in to tackle boys
The undefeated filly, Strawberry Baby (4/1), ships in from Prairie Meadows to take on the boys after capturing the Prairie Gold Lassie Stakes July 19. In her only other start, Strawberry Baby was a debut winner at Lone Star Park for trainer J.R. Caldwell. As a daughter of Warrior’s Reward out of a Theatrical mare, Strawberry Baby is well-bred for the challenge. Jockey Dakota Wood has the mount.
